Sometimes we carry thoughts and feelings that are too heavy to bear alone. I offer a place where you can share what's hard to share elsewhere—without judgment, without having to perform, without pretending everything's fine when it's not.

Master of Counselling, M.C.
My name is Justin Morrison, and I'm an associate counsellor working with individuals, couples, and families in Vancouver and throughout BC.
I believe therapy works when there's genuine trust between two people. That trust doesn't happen instantly—it unfolds over time, through honest conversations and a willingness to show up, even when it's uncomfortable. My job is to create the conditions where that trust can grow.
I came to therapy through my own struggles with vulnerability. I was raised in Ireland, in a culture that taught me feelings were something to hide, not share. As someone who felt a lot, that created problems I'd carry for years.
Through curiosity and some important relationships, I learned there was another way to be in the world—one that involved less suffering and more honesty. That journey brought me here.
I came to this work later in life, which means I bring more than training. I bring the understanding that comes from lived experience—from knowing what it's like to struggle inside while telling everyone you're fine. I also know that change is possible.
If you're tired of paddling your own canoe, if you're ready to stop managing everything alone, let's talk.
Working through anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, questions about identity and meaning, or feeling stuck and disconnected from yourself.
Navigating relationship difficulties, conflict, communication challenges, and reconnecting with what brought you together.
Whether it's conflict between people or conflict within yourself, we're trying to find clarity, reduce judgment and shame, and discover the unmet needs at the heart of your suffering.
Honestly, in a brief initial conversation, it's impossible to know with 100% certainty. We really have to try working together to find out.
That's why I offer a free 20-minute consultation—it's a low-pressure way to get a sense of whether we should take the next step. If after our first full session (or second, or third) you feel like this isn't the right fit, you're always free to walk away.
We'll spend most of our time exploring what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions to help me understand your world, your struggles, and what you're hoping will change. We won't solve everything in one session—we're just getting to know each other and starting to build that foundation of trust.
That's completely normal. Many people come to therapy knowing something needs to change but without a clear vision of what that looks like. Part of our early work together is figuring out what realistic change might mean for you.
I don't offer direct billing to insurance providers, but I do provide receipts following each session that you can submit for reimbursement, depending on your coverage. I recommend checking with your insurer to confirm whether counselling services are covered under your plan.
It depends entirely on you—your goals, your situation, and how the work unfolds. Some people benefit from short-term work focused on a specific issue. Others find value in longer-term exploration. We'll check in regularly about whether our work together is still serving you.
There are many reasons why therapy might not have worked in the past—wrong timing, wrong fit, wrong approach. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all method, so our work will be tailored to you specifically. And if at any point this doesn't feel useful, we'll talk about it openly.
I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee.
$160 CAD per 50-minute session (individuals)
$185 CAD per 50-minute session (couples & families)
Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made by e-transfer or credit card. I provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
If you're considering therapy, I invite you to book a free 20-minute consultation. There's no commitment—just an opportunity to talk, ask questions, and see if we might be a good fit.
